The Bulls Will Make it to the Playoffs Next Season
There has...been disappointment throughout Chicago when it comes to basketball. Ever since a young Derrick Rose tore his ACL in the 2012 first round of playoffs, the Bulls haven't fully recovered. There has been a lack of making excellent front office decisions that have left the players and the fans hanging the past five something years. This season, the Bulls are currently sitting in 12th place in the Eastern Conference with an embarrassing record of 21-41. There is no doubt that the team is still in the rebuilding process, but I truly believe the Bulls will make the playoffs next year and here's why.
First off, the Bulls have the 8th pick in the 2018 draft. Typically a top 10 picked player will have the potential to fill what the team needs. The bulls are currently looking into a big man who plays center. I think this would be a great move however, the Bulls need to look into getting some outside shooters. The best 3-point shooter (Nikola Mirotic) on the team was acquired by the Pelicans making the Bulls lack from the outside. But whatever player they choose, I feel like he will fit in with the young-prominent Bull's roster.
Next, everyone on the team will be healthy next season. Injuries always seem to setback back a team at the wrong time. Now that the team's best shooting guard, Zach LaVine is healthy, the team will be looking solid next season. The Bull's have not been able to escape the harsh situations around injuries.
Lastly, the whole team is fairly young. With players excelling such as starting point guard Kris Dunn and power forward Lauri Markkanen, the team is looking at having some serious threats. Markkanen has actually broke shooting records and is the first player to reach hitting 100 3-point shots in the shortest amount of games. This shows future potential and I for one believe the team is just missing one piece. The start of next season may be slow for Chicago, but I bet they will have a great season and make it to the playoffs with the 6th spot in the Eastern Conference.
