What is With the Chicago Bear's Front Office!?
The Chicago Bears...
I can not...express how disappointed I am with the Chicago Bear's front office staff. The Bears have not won a Superbowl since 1985 when they had arguably the best NFL team ever. Since then, the Bears have only been to the Superbowl one time in 2007. In this Superbowl XLI the Bears were defeated by a prominent Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts 29-17. I am not too upset about taking an L this year because the Bears weren't even projected to make it that far this year. However, these last few years, I have been DISGUSTED with the front office administration.
The current General Manger (GM), Ryan Pace and previous GM, Phil Emery, have made a set of extremely poor decisions in my opinion. To me, it all started going down hill when they hired their Offensive Coordinator, Marc Trestman as Head Coach who had an overall record of 13-19 in two seasons. The reason why I was extremely salty with this move was because he did not prove to be a good coach when he was calling the offensive shots. The play calling was absolutely horrendous. I mean, the go-to play on 3rd and long was a screen pass the majority of the time. You would think after a million failures, that Trestman would realize that these screen passes didn't do jack squat.
Now looking at the past four seasons, the Bears have finished last in their division every time. Under Head Coach John Fox (Head Coach the past 3 seasons), The Bears hold a disgusting record of 14-34. How can you continuously have such a bad record. I mean, only 14 wins in 3 seasons!? It is clear that some changes needed to be made. On top of all this, in the 2017 draft, the bears traded a bunch of assets to move up ONE pick. The organization traded 3 picks in the 2017 draft and 1 pick in the 2018 draft all just to move up 1 flippin spot! How can you be in a rebuilding process but you trade away extremely important assets?!?!? It really does grind my gears. To me, these guys have absolutely no idea what they are doing. Whatever though, John Fox was fired this past season so the door is wide open under new Head Coach Matt Nagy. I am extremely hopeful for this upcoming season as I always am. I just hope not to be hit with terrible decisions flooding into the 2018 season.
