What Chicago Means to Me (Ezine)

Chicago has hosted the craziest times I have ever had in my life.  I have never had a dull moment and I never will.  The reason being is that Chicago has something special to offer every time you set foot in the city.  It doesn't matter if you are working the same routine for hours on end; Chicago will still provide for you and take care of you.  Growing up, I never thought that I would still be this attached the Chi-Town at this age.  It just goes to show that Chicago isn't just a physical home but also a mental one.  Many people have their safe places and so do I-Chicago.  

I have this recurring memory that comes and goes whenever it pleases about a time when I was in Chicago.  It was the memory of my first ‘Taste of Chicago’ events that I had ever attended.  Going to this event in early July was a tradition to my family because of the happiness it brought each and every one of us.  Anyways, the memory I am talking about consists of thousands of memories all in one.  My first time at the ‘Taste’, I remember seeing so many incredible things.  These things ranged from food stands/vendors, street performers, as well as participation activities such as sporting zones to have an opportunity to win prizes.  Out of all of these I remember this diving show that was put on my first experience at this awesome event. 

The Diving event had multiple divers who made leaps from unreal heights into decently shallow water.  The amount of suspense the show drew from me was insane!  I have never had my heart beating so fast in fear that one of these performers would get killed doing what they are doing.  But clearly I was wrong because the show went on year after year in which it was very successful.  But anyways, this moment was one that I will hold onto forever.  That specific show gave me the most rocky rollercoaster experience I had ever had emotionally.  On top of this, it was an excellent opportunity to spend good quality time with my family year after year.  I just wanted to share this experience with you because I know that you can experience similar things when you visit Chicago.  The culture, the people, and the city itself is just an unbelievable place to be.
